PHS Orchestra Awards Banquet Feedback
Orchestra Students - This is your banquet!
We'd love to hear from you to know how to make your banquet experience better.
PHS Orchestra Awards Banquet:
Thursday, May 25, 2017
6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Perrysburg Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons
|
Banquet background info...Planning an event this large takes early preparation. Banquet awards are prepped in advance for the attending students. The picture slideshow is catered for banquet attendees. Entrees and cakes are pre-ordered, etc. In the past few years, we've had between 250-330 banquet attendees.
We sign contracts for location about a year ahead to reserve a location ahead of time. For instance, we're already in talks to reserve the date for next year's banquet (Thursday, May 24, 2018 - after all Final Exams have completed). The contract will likely be signed in June with a deposit paid to hold the date. If you're interested in future changes, please let us know as soon as possible how to improve! To accommodate our potential group size with orchestra students and parents, our options are limited. We could move to the High School Commons with catered food for a less formal/less pricey option. We could also go to a local church/banquet hall. We could move to a park, but weather could really have an unpredictable impact. We could journey further out of Perrysburg to locations in Maumee, Toledo, Grand Rapids, etc., but feedback we've received in the past was that keeping the banquet in Perrysburg is preferred. An important thing to understand is that served banquet food is trickier than going through a drive thru at your favorite fast food joint. French fries are hard to serve unless we do a buffet line. Even then, the quality is harder to maintain. Who wants a soggy, mushy french fry? Steak is an option at the prom. We can offer it too, but it would be about $5 more expensive. We can offer one price to all, but it gets trickier to estimate how many of each option will be ordered. The lower priced options would have to be more expensive in case of an estimation gap. If this is all gibberish, that's fine, but please let us know if you'd like to see changes or if you are good to keep it generally the same. We can't guarantee all accommodations, but we will certainly work to improve based on the feedback we receive. We got great feedback last year through cards at the dining tables, please take a moment to fill out a form there again this year or provide feedback here. Thanks to all for your participation!
