President opening for 2021-22 school year
The Perrysburg Orchestra Boosters President position is opening up for the 2021-2022 school year. We are looking for someone who is willing to support the the orchestra program in its success, and who is willing to be an active and engaged in moving the program forward. If this sounds like you, please reach out and let me know that you would be interested in serving for the upcoming school year.
ABOUT THE POSITION: The President position holds voting rights and is considered one of the five members of the Board of Directors. The President is responsible for leading meetings, keeping general communications to families updated, and overseeing the general operations of all board functions.
EXPECTATIONS:
Support POB Efforts – This can look like a lot of things. Basically, there are five board members who are responsible for overseeing and executing POB’s efforts to support the orchestra program. We try to focus on utilizing the strengths and interests of each of our members to make sure our efforts are a success.
Attend regular meetings - As a board, we typically hold one meeting per month through the school year, alternating between public and executive meetings. The meetings last about an hour, generally speaking. Of course, we understand that absences sometimes cannot be helped. We are simply asking that you commit to give your best. In addition to our regular meetings (described above), we do hold one or two meetings that focus specifically on setting the course for our upcoming school year, as well as setting and approving the budget.
TERM: There is no set term. You can try it for a year to see if you like it. If not, you step down, and we fill the vacant spot again next year. If you love it, you can stick around and continue to serve, or perhaps move into a different board position if one becomes available. We only ask that you do your best to commit to serving for the school year.
WHAT’S NEXT: We will be holding a vote for the Trustee position at our May 5th public meeting. The election process will take place via electronic voting.
