Orchestra Booster Scholarships
Open Application Period: December 2- December 31, 2019
Perrysburg Orchestra Boosters strongly believe that access to private lessons builds more confident musicians. The growth of the Perrysburg Schools Orchestras over the past two decades can largely be attributed to superior classroom directors, but also to the broad investment in private instrument instruction.
The goal of our scholarship program is to enhance students' musical education through access to private string lessons. While private instruction is not a requirement of the orchestra classes, it is strongly recommended for some. Students who participate in private lessons are frequently able to share what they have learned with fellow students, thus strengthening our orchestras as a whole.
Every school year, Perrysburg Orchestra Boosters award multiple scholarships to orchestra students based on students' submitted applications. Parents, we recognize that students will not be able to regularly attend private lessons without your ongoing commitment and support. Therefore, this year, we kindly ask for your responses as well.
Scholarships can be used for private lesson instruction, Strings on Fire! Summer Lesson Program, or other summer music camps. The provided instructor list and music camp links are not exclusive, but provided as a resource. If you have questions about selecting a private instructor or a best fit summer music camp, please email your student's orchestra director.
In the near future, we hope to develop a college scholarship program to fund graduating senior students pursuing a 4-year degree in music or music education.
